Yearplanner V4.0 available

22 November 2017: Hi folks! Thanks to everyone who's downloaded and enjoyed my year planner macro over the years. I have had reports that the macro does not work under Office 2016 which until now I have not been able to test. As I write, the macro (V4.1) works unchanged on a new Office 365 install on a Mac. However if you have another workbook open it will fail with a 'Subscript out of range' error. I promise to fix this in the near future! So, close all other open workbooks and try again.

It's taken me a while to get around to updating it, but here it is, Yearplanner Maker V4.0!

This update streamlines the Control Panel dialog, but more importantly introduces a new feature: split years. So if you begin a chart in June, it'll run to May the following year.

I've included a security disclaimer/guide for those struggling to get it to run under Excels' default macro security settings (tip: you need to turn security off).

In addition, there's a few lines describing the basic use of the Control Panel.

IE8 Broswer opens red to say the download site is unsafe... when told to ignore the dowload is blocked... any other URL?

I don't know why this should be the case, other than your IE is sensitive to the fact my Excel sheet is heavily loaded with macro code...

As a workaround, I've put the file up on Dropbox - refer to the original post to get the link, hopefully that will allow you to download the Excel goodness...

Steven, just found your Yearplanner. I think this tool is great, I really like having a full year calendar. I exported my calendar from outlook, filtered that dataset down to what I want on the calendar then pasted into the events tab. Worked great. Had a full year calendar in just a few minutes.

I do have a question though. Is it possible to split the days into multiple cells so that if you have multiple events on the same day only one event is assigned to each cell? This is for the color assignments, it appears that when you have multiple events on the same day the color for the last event "wins".

Thanks for all the work you put into this tool and providing to to everyone as a free download.

Hi Steve,
I have been using your planner for years.
Its GREAT!

Unfortunately, the newest version of Excel for Windows does not seem to like your macro anymore (at least on my computer).
Any chance you will update it?

Kind regards
Nick

Hi Nick, apologies for the slow response.

I'm planning on having the planner updated to work with Office 2016 before the end of the year, so hang in there.

It has been a few years since I put any work into it but I'm happy people still use and like it. I still use it myself!
